EOS, already assigned by Fiera Parking, subsidiary of Fondazione Fiera, with the high surveillance of the implementation activities of the skydata management system and the telepass system for the parking service infrastructure at Fiera, is commissioned to be the Construction Supervisor for a significant renewal sampling of the exhibition pavilion roofs, as part of a plan to realize a photovoltaic installation of large dimensions on top of all of the pavilions and on the roofs of the covered parking lots.
July 24, 2018
The month of July saw the completion of the implementation of a management system to control the access points, exit ways and payment system with the latest skydata technology and with the telepass system. The control and payment system plays a strategic role in the management of the parking lots, which can fit up to 10,000 cars. The parking lot system in Fiera di Rho consists of five open air parking lots and two covered lots along the southern, eastern and western perimeters of the Fiera, allowing entrance to the complex from various access points. The parking lots cover a gross surface area of circa 290,000 square meters and have been developed around an external road system measuring circa 135,000 square meters.
At the same time, EOS was asked to give an offer and was awarded the role of Construction Supervisor for the sampling, which Fiera decided to carry out before the realization of the necessary interventions on the roofs, with renewal, adaptation, integration, and partial or total replacement operations, with the goal of creating adequate conditions for the installation of the photovoltaic installation.
To test the chosen method, Fondazione Fiera, before beginning the intervention on all of the pavilion roofs, almost 300,000 square meters, believed it was best to proceed first with the realization of just a “sample roof,” using a significant part of a “typical” pavilion, choosing a portion along the southeastern side of pavilion 22-24.
The surface subjected to the sampling contains all of the present case studies (continuous surface, ridges, eaves, skylight, smoke and heat evacuators, etc.) and is therefore capable of providing a response to the resolution of problems that may arise, as well as to the technical methods of the photovoltaic installation that Fondazione Fiera is preparing to build on all the roofs of the pavilions.
